It was in July 1983 that Midhani started the Integrated Commercial Production of the entire plant. With a very modest turnover of Rs 8 Crore in 1983 Midhani today in 2008 has been able to get a Sales turnover of Rs 255 Crore. This quarter of the century has seen Midhani overcoming many a problem including Power shortages, Major Equipment breakdowns and market variations. Inspite of all the hurdles Midhani is now poised for a giant leap to meet major requirements in the Space , Aeronautics and Atomic sectors. To participate in the Silver Jubilee function Shr AK ANTONY Hon'ble Raksha Mantri along with Secretary Defence Production have specially flown from N Delhi. The small but elegant function was held amidst distinguished guests from the adjoining DRDO and BDL, and most importantly all the stalwarts who have built and brought Midhani to this day (ex Midhanians). All the employees of Midhani joined hands and participated in the functions. Shri AK Antony was recieved with a guard of honour and was shown around the various production shops. He addressed the gathering and promised all help for the growth of Midhani. He later addressed a press meeting. |

After addressing the gathering of all Midhanians on the momentous occasion of the Celebrations Shri A K Antony Hon'ble Raksha Mantri adjourned for a press meeting. Around 80 press persons attended the meet. Later the minister talked with the Midhani Board Directors about the functioning of the company. |

After the hectic schedule with the minister in the forenoon Shri M Narayana Rao Chairman & Managing Director took the oppurtunity discuss the state of affairs with all the invited ex Midhanians. These included ex C&MD , ex GMs, and ex AGMs.
After the initial talk of nostalgia about the various stages of the formation of Midhani , the discussions veered into totally technical issues and various stratagies which the present management has to take up for building Midhani as a much bigger unit. |
